Amanda Zolman, MA, LMHC (She/Her)

Amanda Zolman is a graduate of Butler University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology while competing in NCAA Division I Cross Country and Track and Field as a student-athlete.  She obtained her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis and completed her clinical training at both Butler University Counseling & Consultation Services and IU Methodist Hospital's Addiction Treatment & Recovery Center. Before creating Thrive Counseling Services, she served as an outpatient therapist and clinical supervisor at a group private practice in Carmel, Indiana for almost 10 years where she provided individual and family therapy and crisis intervention services.  

Amanda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who offers individual and family therapy and consultation and coaching services for adults and adolescents (ages 16+).  Amanda has a solid understanding of the challenges faced by adolescents and adults and is passionate about assisting individuals and families in improving their mental health, enhancing their life experiences, and empowering them to be a part of their own growth.  She is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and accepting therapeutic environment and developing a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship to allow each individual to gain insight and develop skills to assist them in addressing their presenting concerns.  

Treatment Approach:

Amanda uses an integrative approach to treatment that is influenced by a variety of therapeutic principles and perspectives including Trauma-Informed, Cognitive-Behavioral, Client-Centered, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, and Interpersonal theories.  She employs elements from a range of therapeutic techniques with the goal of creating a treatment program that meets the specific needs of each individual.

Clinical Interests:

She has over 10 years of experience working with a diverse range of individuals in terms of socioeconomic status, age, ethnicity, gender, and presenting concerns.  Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, sexual and gender identity, working with athletes, eating disorders and body image issues, fertility and family planning issues, and working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
